E6The Sardis Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1936 to protect and serve the members of the community from fire and other disaster.


Sardis Fire Department responds to all types of call from structure fire, vehicle fires, brush fires, automobile accidents, or any disaster that requires the fire department to respond.


Currently Sardis Fire Department has two engines, one brush truck, one rescue truck, two personnel vehicles.Car Fire


Sardis Fire Department has mutual aid agreements with all the surrounding departments and counties and will respond to any mutual aid call when requested.


Currently the fire department is has a class 7 rating from the Mississippi Rating Bureau.

Currently there are 11 firefighters that make up the department but we are always looking for more willing and able bodies that are willing to serve their community.Training the Rookie


If you are not one of those that can be on the front line fighting fire or helping with a disaster the department has a Fire Department Auxiliary Group that backs up the department and helps with special events, fundraisers, other project, and when called up on to help provide drinks and food for the department first responders.

Town of Sardis, has become a Firewise community in 2014 thanks to the hard work of the fire department’s Fire Prevention Officer who was able to get the department grant money from the Mississippi Forestry to buy need equipment.ChuckMitchAndy
